Our Story

Over the decades, Community Service Care expanded its impact throughout New England by managing community residences and supporting individuals through innovative care models. As community needs evolved, so did our mission. In 2009, we broadened our focus to support students, emerging professionals, and grassroots organizations working in social justice, public health, education, and community development.

Today, Community Service Care serves as a nonprofit incubator and community hub, providing resources, guidance, and collaborative support to local initiatives. By fostering grassroots leadership and strengthening community partnerships, we help turn ideas into action and create lasting solutions that empower individuals, organizations, and neighborhoods across Greater Boston.

Community Service Care was founded on the belief that communities thrive when people are supported close to home. Our roots trace back to 1968, when the building at 36 Perkins Street became a gathering place for advocates, neighbors, and leaders working to advance community-based care. This movement championed support within communities rather than institutions and helped shape some of Massachusetts’ earliest models of community-centered services.
